Safety Helmet – Care and General info

Purpose of Safety Helmets: Safety helmets are designed to protect against head injuries resulting from falling objects, accidental impacts, collisions, or falls. To ensure maximum protection, helmets must be worn correctly and maintained in good condition at all times.

Proper Usage Guidelines:

  1. Fit:
The helmet must fit securely and comfortably on the head. It should sit level and stable without obstructing vision or affecting hearing.
  1. Adjustments:
Always adjust the headband, suspension system, and chin strap (if provided) properly. The helmet must remain firmly in place duringwork activities and should not be excessively loose or overly tight.

  1. Routine Inspection:
Inspect the helmet regularly for cracks, dents, distortion, or signs of deterioration. Check that the suspension and straps are intact and functional.
Any damaged helmet must be reported and replaced immediately.

  1. Impact Damage:
If a helmet has sustained any impact or significant force, it must be removed from service immediately. Even without visible damage, its protective capability may be compromised, as safety helmets are typically designed for single-impact use.

  1. Maintenance
Clean helmets using mild soap and water only. Avoid solvents, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaners, as these may weaken the material. Ensure the helmet is clean and completely dry before storage.

  1. Compliance:
Helmets must be worn at all times in designated mandatory areas. Ensure the helmet complies with the safety standards applicable to your specific working environment.
  1. Storage:
Store helmets in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, chemicals, and contaminants. Practice the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) system onboard to ensure older helmets are issued and used before newer stock.
  1. Expiry / Service Life:
All safety helmets must be used within the manufacturer’s recommended service life. As a general guideline:
    • The helmet shell should be replaced 5 years from the date of manufacture.
    • The suspension system should be replaced every 12 months, or earlier if signs of wear or damage are observed.

Always check the manufacturer’s markings inside the helmet for the date of manufacture. Helmets that have exceeded their service life, show signs of deterioration, or have been exposed to harsh conditions must be removed from service and replaced immediately.

We are pleased to introduce an ergonomic feature of our safety helmets that enhances comfort. The helmet includes a rear adjustable retention system, allowing the wearer to secure and adjust the fit easily with a single hand.

Please refer to the following illustrations for guidance:

  1. Rotate the adjustment knob counterclockwise to loosen the fit and clockwise to tighten it, enabling precise and comfortable adjustment.
